Miss Alexandria's Outstanding Teen is an official preliminary to the Miss Virginia's Outstanding Teen and Miss America's Outstanding Teen scholarship competitions.  The Miss America's Outstanding Teen program was organized to encourage positive achievement by helping to nurture and build the scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment and healthy living of our nation's youth.  Over $175,000 in scholarships are available each year at the national pageant.

Requirements to be Miss Alexandria's Outstanding Teen:

Must be between 13 and 17 (High School Junior)

Must be a United States citizen

Must reside in Virginia for a minimum of six months

Must be in good health

Must have a performing talent

Must meet time and responsibility commitments as set forth by Miss Alexandria Executive Director

Winner is required to compete at Miss Virginia's Outstanding Teen in Roanoke, VA, in June

Miss Virginia's Outstanding Teen winner is required to compete at Miss America's Outstanding Teen competiton in Orlando, FL, in August
