In order to compete for the title of Miss Alexandria 2012, a contestant must meet the following requirements:

Must have been born female.

Must be a United States Citizen.

Must have never been married.

Must be a resident of Virginia for at least six months preceding the date of the local pageant OR must have fulfilled eligibility requirements by educational status (at least one completed semester) or employment (at least six months.

Must have never performed any act or engaged in any activity or employment that is or could reasonably be characterized as dishonest, immoral or indecent.

Must be at least a 17-year-old high school senior by the date of the local pageant and no older than 24 on December 31, 2012.

Must have a performing talent

Must be of good moral character and have never been pregnant and is now neither pregnant nor the adoptive parent of any child and has not been involved at any time in any act of moral turpitude.

Must have never been convicted of any crime and does not have any criminal charges pending

Must be in good health and and able to participate fully and without limitation in any program activities.

Must not use or abuse any illegal controlled substances or abuse the use of alcohol or other dangerous substances.
